Superabsorbents (Conventional pad) VS Wood pulp (RPE pad)
Synthetic granules made from crude oil used to enhance absorption. When saturated these gels can irritate by wicking moisture from your skin.Our naturally absorbent core comes from sustainably managed forests. The natural fiber structure of cellulose wood pulp locks away period blood without drying out your skin.
Plastic (Conventional pad) VS Plastic free (RPE pad)
All plastics are polymers — Pads can contain plastic throughout every layer. In the top sheet, the core, and their leak-proof backing.But not all polymers are plastics — RPE is plastic free by design. We use a biopolymer made from GM-free plant starch, which is renewable, sustainable and compostable1.
Chlorine (Conventional pad) VS Totally Chlorine Free (RPE pad)
Most conventional pads are bleached using an Elemental Chlorine Free method (ECF). ECF bleaching is not chlorine-free.We use a Totally Chlorine Free bleaching method to purify and cleanse the cotton and pulp we use.
Perfumes & dyes (Conventional pad) VS Perfume free & no dyes (RPE pad)
Synthetic fragrances are unnecessarily added into some period products to mask smells, and dyes are used to create blue and purple decoration.We use a Totally Chlorine Free bleaching method to purify and cleanse the cotton and pulp we use.RPE products are perfume and dye free. We don’t believe periods are unclean or should be covered up synthetically.
